Hello homies. Many of us are amateur cooks and always try new recipes with absolute zero knowledge. So here is where I want to show you very simple steps to cook some of my favourite dishes with minimum ingredients yet taste soooo good. So dive in people, to explore easy ways to cook and enjoy a happy meal.
INGREDIENTS
Basmati rice - 1 cup (nearly 200gm)
Vegetables - potato (1), green beans(5/8),
carrot (1).
Onions - 1 (big)
Green chillies - 4
Mint leaves - a fistful
Curry leaves - just for taste
Spices - bay leaf(1), cloves(4), cardamom(2), pepper(10),
cinnamon(1 inch).
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tb
Red chilli powder - 1 tb
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Biryani masala - 1 1/2 tb
Curd - 1/4 cup
Salt - As per taste.
Ghee - 4 tb
PREPARATION
STEP 1
Rinse and soak the basmati rice in 1 1/2 cup water for 30 minutes.
STEP 2
Take a cooker. Heat the ghee. Once heated, add spices, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, and chopped onions. Add a pinch of salt so that onions turn pink quickly.
STEP 3
Add all the chopped vegetables and salt. Mix them well and cook on medium flame for about 3 minutes . Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, biryani masala. Simmer the flame and add curd.
(CAUTION -If you dont simmer while adding curd then it will break). Blend in the curd with the vegetables and cook for 1 minute.
STEP 4
Now drain the water from basmati rice and add rice to the cooker. Add mint leaves and curry leaves. Add 2 cups of water and mix everything just once. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook until you get 3 whistles.
(CAUTION - My cooker takes 3 whistles to cook rice. You have to cook according to your pressure cooker)
STEP 5
Let the cooker cool for 10 min. Open the lid and serve the biryani hot.
STEP 6
You can make raitha or else any gravy goes with the biryani.
