Easy & Spicy Happy Potato Fry


Hello homies. Today I am back with another tasty and simple recipe. HAPPY POTATO FRY.. This is a special dish you would want to make in your bad days and especially when you are in a bad mood. It takes very less number of ingredients which are easily available in the kitchen and fridge. You can eat this with sambar rice, chapathi and even curd rice. Jump into the process with me and get ready to witness how easy it is to cook.

INGREDIENTS

  • Potatoes - 4 medium sized
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Garlic pods - 4
  • Cumin & mustard seeds - 1tsp
  • Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Curry leaves 
  • Oil - 4 tbsp 
CAUTION : Chop and soak the potatoes in water for 30 minutes to remove starch. Drain the water and dry the potatoes before you start cooking. 
    


STEP 1

 Take a pan and heat oil. As soon as they start popping, add cumin mustard seeds, chana dal,  crushed garlic, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute them well.



STEP 2

Now add the potatoes and cook for about 3 minutes on high flame and 2 minutes on medium flame. 


STEP 3

After the potatoes get brownish corners , add turmeric powder. Cook for another 5 minutes. Mix well whenever required. 



Once the potatoes turn to golden colour, try to cut a piece. If it cuts smoothly then the curry is almost done.

STEP 4

At this stage simmer the flame, add chilli powder and salt. Mix well and cook for just 2 minutes. 



At the end garnish it with coriander leaves for even better taste and flavour.
